A few months back I bumped into Ottawa poet Michelle Desbarats. She was coming out of Bridgehead, and after I made sure I hadn’t spilled her coffee, we got to talking. She told me that Stuart Ross was coming up from Toronto for the Dusty Owl series on the weekend, and than I should catch him if I could.
I had Sunday evening free so I brought my mic down to Swizzles, checked in with Steve and the Dusty Owl technical crew, and introduced myself to Stuart, who is a very nice man.
He said he had no problem with being recorded, so I set up, and settled down to hear him for the first time. On this clip we hear him read from his recent short story The President’s Cold Legs.
